Dec 7, 2009 - It was sort of unclear, but I'm pretty sure the character's name is Lobo the Conquistador. "Ponce de Leon" is just a name that John used to mock him.

Dec 7, 2009 - Hmmm. Reasonable point. I took it the other way, with Lobo as the nickname, but I suppose the historical gap of 100 years makes your reading more sensible... But on the other hand looking for "sense" in this delightful little flick is silly! However, I'm pretty sure that not too many Spanish and Catholic conquistadors made it to 1620-1640 New England! Weren't Conquistadors from the 16th century? But there I go trying to make sense again, and probably missing the entire point.

seemedlikeagoodidea Says:

Dec 7, 2009 - Further research reveals that there is a play "Conquistador" with a character named Dr. Lobo Guerrero... Maybe that's the reference?

Dec 7, 2009 - lol at the end. My only criticism is that at 1:31 they're talking about theyr'e spot, so it should be shown where they are. I think that would have been funnier if you cut to a view behind them showing that the "cool spot" is just the same as every other part of the woods.
