Oct 24, 2008 - when you were learning to ride a bike.. did anyone care if the bike got scratched or 'worn' ? The main thing was that you learnt to ride the bike.. by the time you stuff up that pitch controller.. you would have mastered beatmatching to a tee. p.s- mine lasted about 4 years of heavy use before needing replacement

Oct 25, 2008 - i use the same technique although i have direct driven tables because of this reason; - when you have to speed the record up a little or slow it down when they go out of sync while the mix is already in progress...the audience won't notice it when using the pitch control instead of using your hand to slow down the platter. - when i slow down the platter with my hand, the tt gives too much torque to try to get to the original speed :/

Oct 25, 2008 - good advice ..the only thing is your pitch slider would soon ware out ..what i do is if i need to slow or speed up i quickly turn off the the record im bringing in in time with the beat ,,therefore noone can hear you slow it down or speed up

Oct 25, 2008 - I started DJing recently and noticed that I do find myself touching the platter right after I shift the pitch. But I do it as a way of getting the beats synchronized first and then observing whether one starts drifting off again. If not, keep repeating the same steps.

Oct 31, 2008 - Thanks for reminding DJs to keep their headphones on during the mix. Some DJs want to enjoy the mix as well but I keep telling them they are not there to party only to make it happen for others.

Nov 11, 2008 - i touch the platter to get it quickly to matching beats, i don't like to move pitch in big motions to catch up or slow down coz i feel like i lose the precision of where i set it previously. but for real, if you're not using 1200s its a different story
