Too many took loans they couldn't pay back. They hoped they could sell their house and it didn't work out. Well that sucks. It also sucks the mortgage industry let it happen. A lot of things suck in life. The dems DID influence the industry to let just about ANYONE get a mortgage until VERY recently. I suggest you rent for a while.

And most people who default on medical bills probably don't OWN a house because USUALLY homeowners are established and have jobs/businesses with insurance. The MAIN reason for foreclosures is loans that couldn't be repaid. People took out loans with lower rates and when they reset higher they were screwed.
